Fitness Coaching

What can I expect from a fitness coach?
Fitness coaching is a collaborative and personalized program that focuses on improving health and vitality. This state of wellness is realized by having your coach support you into making better choices regularly, ultimately enhancing your quality of life. Your Fitness Coach will guide you in setting SMART goals and provide customized resources that maximize your potential to achieve desired outcomes.

Many people seeking to improve their health would like to meet with a personal trainer or a dietician on a weekly basis, but with today's fast-paced, erratic lifestyles, it can be difficult to commit to a trainer’s schedule and impossible to avoid cancelling expensive personal training sessions at the last minute.

A fitness coach is convenient, flexible, and accommodating, all while maintaining effectiveness. Moreover, participants are held accountable in their progression of exercise and nutrition programs by phone communication.

FOUR BENEFITS OF FITNESS COACHING:

1. CONVENIENCE
Fitness coaching is flexible in terms of time and place. Just commit to a regularly scheduled 25-minute phone session once a week if you truly want professional support with your exercise program. You can exercise at home, in the gym, on vacation, any time, anywhere.

2. AFFORDABILITY
Fitness coaching is affordable guidance that provides top-quality expertise in exercise and nutrition at less than 20% of the monthly cost of conventional one-on-one training.

Fitness coaching is at least 500% more cost effective than traditional personal training. The monthly cost chart above is based on personal training on average 2-3 times per week at $85 per session and biweekly fitness coaching for 12 weeks. The menu below provides the different program options available.

Program         6 Weeks          12 Weeks             24 Weeks
Weekly        $450 ($75)          $840 ($70)            $1,560 ($65)
Biweekly      -          $480 ($80)              $900 ($75)
Tri-weekly        -          $360 ($90)              $680 ($85)
Monthly (maintenance)          -       $570 ($95)

3. SELF-EFFICACY
Regularly scheduled 25-minute phone coaching sessions instill independence in goal achievement. You learn to take personal responsibility for gaining control over your motivation and exercise results. You'll feel empowered as you conquer one obstacle after another. Your fitness coach's support reinforces your commitment and gives you structure and immediate feedback, so you can progress through your program sooner.

The foundation of ordinary personal training is a strong external control. The personal trainer's physical presence during exercise sessions is the main source of motivation. By contrast, fitness coaching is builds your internal control, supporting your internal resources and your inborn ability to motivate yourself and move you toward your own goals.

4. ACCOUNTABILITY
A quarter century of research at Stanford University confirms that fitness coaching keeps 75 to 90 percent of its clients on their programs over the long term--compared to only 10 to 25 percent for personal trainers. Another study at Virginia Polytechnic University showed that 45 percent of people who structured their walking program around a weekly phone call from their fitness coach were still at it 24 weeks later--compared to only 2 percent who didn’t have a fitness coach.

What if I need help in learning how to perform an exercise?
The phone consultations handle most of those questions, but if you need more we’ll use ExRx.net, or I’ll demonstrate personally through Skype.
